Welcome to the open course content for Thompson Rivers Open Learning, CMNS 1161: Introduction to Communications! This site contains instructional materials that will help guide a learner through the course topics and activities.

If you do not need this course for credit, then you are welcome to look at and work through this open course. If you are interested or need credit for studying this material, you can register through the TRU Open Learning registration system. As a registered student, you will have access to the required assessments and Open Learning Faculty Member. To get credit for the course, you will need to complete all the assignments, unit quizzes, and the mandatory Final Exam. Registered Students

If you are a registered student, you will use two environments to complete the course. This website includes the learning outcomes, topics, course content and activities you will use to work through the course units. To contact your Open Learning Faculty Member and to access and submit your assessments, you will need to log in to the Learning Management System (TRU Moodle). If you are registered for the course, you will receive login information for your assigned course within our Learning Management System (Moodle).
